Jonathan R. Streeter
Jonathan Streeter is a partner in the New York office of Dechert LLP, an international law firm. He represents financial institutions, companies and individuals in SEC, DOJ, CFTC and other government investigations, as well as in civil litigation, internal investigations and at trial.
During the course of his career, he has tried eighteen federal jury trials and two bench trials. Prior to joining Dechert in early 2012, Mr. Streeter served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York from 2000 to 2012. While at the U.S. Attorney’s Office he served on the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force and as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division.
He was lead trial counsel for the government in the Galleon case, U.S. v. Raj Rajaratnam, one of the largest insider trading cases in history. Since entering private practice he has been ranked by Chambers USA for his government investigations defense work, and has been recognized by The Legal 500 US, Benchmark Litigation, and Lawdragon.
